 Purpose of Digital Strategy

In today's teaching and learning environment, it is important for teachers to develop the skills that are needed to help students master subjects as well as gain 21st century knowledge and skills. Therefore, teachers also need to understand how to select and use appropriate teaching and learning strategies, technology, media and materials so that learning can take place. They also need to understand the characteristics of learners. In order to find effective and efficient ways to integrate technology in the overall curriculum at the Grantley Prescod Memorial Primary. These methods should be engage students so that they will be able to function in this technological society.


The School's Vision for Implementing Technology

At the Grantley Prescod Memorial Primary School, the teaching staff is committed to  providing a disciplined, stimulating and creative teaching and learning environment for the students. The staff will continually develop the skills that are needed to competently implement educational technology, through participating in professional development workshops and professional learning communities. The school will also develop an environment where teachers utilize the learnt skills to efficiently and effectively impart knowledge to the students in the educational institutions so that they will achieve academic success. Also, they will create an environment in which students  can independently and effectively acquire the knowledge and skills that are needed for them to develop to their fullest potential and become worthwhile citizens in this global, and technological society.

Unlike the technology plan, the NSW government states that a digital strategy is designed by members of the institution and used as a guide to determine what skills and tools are needed to succeed when implementing technology in education.
