What do we need?
Implementation Strategy
Based on the information gathered, I will use a digital strategy at The Grantley Prescod Memorial Primary School. We will:
formulate an Acceptable User Policy (AUP) which will be shared with all of the staff members and students. Failure to adhere to the policy will result in a request being made for the return of the devices.
acquire at least two more repeaters and placed closer to, if not in, the classrooms that hardly receive the Wi-Fi signal.
continue to use the Google Workspace but will ensure that teachers and students are adequately trained to use the applications.
approach management at Lynch Insurance Broker, the company that has adopted the school, to find out if they can make a donation of some devices.
make contact with Digicel Barbados, the internet service provider, to find out if they can offer a wider bandwidth even if a cost is attached to it.
make provisions for the ITC to train others in maintenance of the devices so that they can assist him.
organize frequent training sessions for teachers and students.
ensure that a number of active PLCs are formed.
This is a comprehensive strategy which I think, once implemented, would enhance the teaching and learning environment at your school. It is important to have a vision accompanied by a plan in order to see that vision emerge development successfully. There must also be financial considerations to fund its implementation where necessary.
